Time to get real

The family vacation is over.  A good time was had by all and it's
time to get real and back on track with exercise.

Our family spent the weekend on the Texas Gulf Coast at an
area known as North Padre Island.  It's actually been a looong
time since our family has taken a vacation...about 5 years and
the kids were uber-excited about going to the beach, even my
teenage boys.

We left last friday morning and picked up my mom, who is
currently living with my sister, brother-in-law and family.  My
mom and dad often went to the beach and we knew mom would
enjoy the calmness of the ocean.

A quick jump in the pool after playing in the ocean.
It is unbelievable how HOT the water in the swimming pool
is.  It's like swimming in a hot tub!

Sand crab hunting at night.  A FAVORITE of our family!

 second floor facing the ocean.

I promise I did not run to the ice cream truck!

Now, it's time to get real!

After summer school today, I came home,
changed clothes, jumped on Millie and ran a mile at the same speed
I use to run before surgery.  Now I know to most of you a 12:00 minute
mile is nothing to brag about, but to me...I'm happy.

The reason I only ran one mile is because I have resumed my "dvd
affair" with Tony Horton.  aaaaahhhh!  I sure missed him!  I've
started the program over and today worked my Chest and Back
which is also known as Push ups and Pull ups!  yuck!

I haven't been able to read everyones posts lately...I'm in the home
stretch of my first semester of Grad school.  I have one big research
paper left for one class, and 2 papers for another class.  I will say
that I happily read a mindless Danielle Steele book over the
weekend at the beach.  Usually my summers consist of reading
about 10-12 D.S. books.  This summer it's Tests and Measurements
and Educating Exceptional Children.  I prefer Danielle Steele!

  1. I would prefer Danielle Steele too although I am more of a Norah Roberts escapist.
